Meekers’ Mobile Trends Presentation

This is a really interesting slide deck from Kleiner Perkins' Mary Meeker. The rate of change in mobile device adoption is certainly nothing new but the presentation does a nice job of pointing out some interestieng data that exemplifieds the change like:

• First three quarters of iDevice growth …
  • iPod 236,000 units shipped
  • iPhone 3.7 million units shipped
  • iPad blew at 14.8 million devices shipped (wow)

• Almost 50% of time on smartphones is in new activities (Maps, games, social networking, etc)
• Year of mobile ads – I have alsways asked myself when will this happen;  1995 it was a $55M market now its a $54B market.
